Movie Review:  This is a movie that within the first 10 minutes your like do I really want to waste the next 94 minutes finding out that it really is a bad movie, plain outright from the terrible screening of our monster ocean creature which you rarely see and then you finally see a bit more than a glimpse and it was something out of a old 70´s horror flick. The acting was cheesy at most parts and there was a story that could have been told in 5 minutes instead of the full 94 minutes. I know Horrors are supposed to be like that but this was overall just bad.

I have to review this but it is simple. Hurricane about to hit a rig in the Gulf of Mexico, fierce storm evacuates almost all the crew in the rig less 8 or so men and the Chief of the rigs daughter. A malfunction at 4000 feet deep and their ¼ million dollar camera and underwater lab is dismantled by something????? Maybe it is our creature???

The crew then pulls up the equipment and then one by one the crew starts to die, obviously getting stab wounds thru their body from this walking deadly sea creature who is now aboard the rig. By the way the wicked storm hurricane has but disappeared now so even the storyline can´t be done right here and as it continues on without any renewed excitement, more of the staff disappears and still no one is any smarter to what´s going on and it´s like half way thru the movie, wow we have to put up with another half!!!

I don’t normally knock a movie but you can´t think up the second half and you´ll probably be mostly right , very predictable and even more cheesy with the camera shots and footing , didn’t even give me very many if at even one scare. So why was it made?

This is Hollywood, or movie marketing at a opportune time to take advantage of the public, especially right after some 70 days of an oil rig problem that just cleared up some 60 days ago, so put one name brand William Forsythe on the cover, put a Rig photo and let everyone in America waste everything from their money to time to just shove it in our faces of how gullible we the public can be.

However, this is why you need guinea pigs like me to watch this crap and review it so you don’t have to waste your time on it. Simple, they probably filmed the whole movie on a oil rig waiting to return back to business and got a discount for filming since the rig was already vacant, then put a crew of actors to read the almost ridiculous script (which most of the time they shouldn’t have talked at all) and then finish it within time that the American public could still remember the Oil disaster from BP Oil and run with it.

The only thing I could appreciate about it was its timing only 2 months after the Oil spill disaster had been repaired , therefore , my hats off to Marketing this film and I am sure a lot of people will be sucked into seeing this one and maybe my review business will increase since John P. Public  will want to read a review before they get ripped off by another movie like this again.

2 Thumbs down!!
