Rating : 5.00 (A cowboy setting, eye for an eye, wanted criminal given amnesty to save the world from a terrorist).
Movie Review: This story was a decent graphics but the rest of the movie was just not anything of a story you want to watch. But it had a lot of action and all the right themes to sell a movie but maybe used too many all in one movie to make it enjoyable.
I actually enjoyed the movie from a visual effects side of the movie and although the story was tough to buy especially considering the plot but it was interesting enough to keep you watching.
The problem was there was no real movie to grab onto , the fact was it took me a while to realize whether it was a horror flick, then comedy , then western then a save the world super hero …which one maybe all of the above which is why it was ok and enjoyable to watch.
However, the end feeling, the effect of that movie after it is said and done was exactly the same feeling which was ok nothing special just ok.
Its about a rampant cowboy Jonah Hex (Josh Brolin) who kills the son of his now enemy(John Malkovich) when they were fighting in the Civil War and then Molkovich kills Brolin´s family and puts a branding iron to his left cheek so he would always remember him, that created the skull like face of Brolin.
Then Jonah Hex continues killing whoever he wants in the Old West just for sometimes looking at him, originally a bounty hunter turned rogue after he kills a bad sheriff who tries to cheat him out of the reward money, so becomes most wanted man then Malkovich reappears as a Terrorist ready to take over the World, and Jonah Hex is hired by the President to save the World. Oh how can we forget to add in the beautiful Megan Fox who is Jonah Hex´s girlfriend (prostitute working in a saloon) who is kidnapped by Malkovich to try and defeat Jonah Hex.
In short, a action , horror , comedy and romance all in one and unfortunately any all for one of anything, doesn’t usually do any one thing great and I think overall it just didn’t seem to do much to ever want to watch it a second time, which means it left me Ok but not amazed.
I give it an even, no thumbs up, and no thumbs down, just OK.

Rating : 6.50 (well done independent film about Drug Cartel in Mexico).
Movie Review: The storyline in this movie was pretty simple, a newspaper journalist looking for his break decides to go to Mexico to interview a Top Cartel chief and find out the how, why and what has made him the baddest dude in the 70 billion dollar a year Business Of Drug trafficking.
It actually was a surprising movie to me because of the way in which the director filmed and created this, the lesson #´s was creative and made real life sense, it was like a manual to do the drug business ..Rule # bla bla do this , don’t do that ,etc etc.
The first half of the movie I probably would have rated it a 7-8 but then the content and rest of the movie just becomes too unbelievable considering we are dealing here with the most ruthless, untrusting people in the world, yet he drops his guard and treats them like friends he has known for years and tells the reporter stuff I am sure no cartel jeffe would ever tell to anyone, let alone a reporter.
It had me really thinking wow, what a very upbeat and “real” start and turned it into stupidness and unbelievability as I figure the guy didn’t get to the Top of a 70 Billion dollar industry doing things that the movie depicted he would be doing or saying although most of the lessons he gave even till the end made complete sense the movie got lost trying to let this LA reporter and 2 friends enter a Top Cartel´s life and then to invite him to his house to stay with him was just as ridiculous as some of the mistakes the Jeffe allowed.
Although the end says it all, it was really a decent overall watch and since most of it was based on the lessons on how to be a Cartel Jeffe (chief) which those I found pretty realistic and stuff you need to do to become the big cheese this definitely was worthy of my time and worth the money to grab it in your local video store.
1 Thumb up!! The fact that the Lessons to be a Cartel chief aren´t too different from the Lessons we should maintain as a Independent business owner or Entrepreneur. (Maybe drop a few just to stay out of prison).Good watch.

Rating : 6.50 (A portrayal of 4 girls , 3 days , 2 cities and 1 chance to survive).
Movie Review: The story was simple, 4 girls and their lives over 3 of the worst days of their lives (independent of each other´s issues) in 2 different cities and 1 chance to survive. The story takes 4 different friends starting off all together and the different paths that they take over a 3 day time line.
The movie was in my mind done well, it kept me interested and the story was pretty believable thus the characters and acting seemed like it was well done. The only problem was that the story itself wasn’t that compelling. It had action and fights and drugs and women in nearly nude scenes but even with all the basic Hollywood themes that work , this movie never really pulled it all together to make it feel like a "wow film" and in the end it was a little different and interesting, but didn´t finish with that "wow factor" that most great movies need to leave you going home with.
It did at times , and that’s why I kept watching but the British actors really are what kept it interesting. They made you feel like there was more to this movie then it actually finished with. It still made me leave with a feeling that I wanted a little more and the fact that it was almost 2 hours left me feeling like after 2 hours if I need more then where the heck did we do in the actual 2 hours.
Maybe I just felt it never really finished anything trying to tell 4 separate stories but never really completing the ones that were being told. Yes the whole movie came together at the end but again it wasn’t that great a ending , quite opposite to the expected , the four stories finished abruptly but they did have a good storyline to each so you thought when they brought all 4 stories together at the end you would have had a more explosive and creative end to it all, but it was a little limp and that is why this didn’t hit the 7 or 8 rating as it should have made.
Don’t let me fool you by the review , I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and didn’t feel it wasted my time at all, but it just didn’t give me the kind of feeling I expected to have after being quite happy with most of the storylines then finishing with a blah!!!
Still I give it 1 Thumb up!! The girls and actors actually made this and are well worth the time spent to watch, just don’t expect to come away with that wow factor you think you will when it flattens out. Still overall Good watch.

Rating : 6.00 (well done independent film about Drug Mules and lessons to be learned)
Movie Review: This movie was actually as realistic as your 16yrs old is naïve. No matter how many people realize that their children are of age and think they can take care of themselves, along comes a slimy leech that grabs onto them and gives them what they think they need (money !!! without working hard for it).
The old age story but done with a different touch as they use Hasidic Jewish boys to be recruited by other Jews as Drug Mules bringing ectasy pills from Europe to America. The characters in the story were naïve and left to be naïve until it is too late. They were told it was Medical prescriptions and pills that were very expensive and not yet approved by the US Drug & Pharmaceutical and they were given a bunch of money to go to Europe stay a couple of days and come back with a suitcase each.
Obviously, they actually played way to innocent and in my mind being such untrustworthy of most people I was shocked that the mules didn´t ask more questions about what they were being asked to do. The old saying if it sounds fishing (too good to be true) it probably is.
This is based on a true story of a young Hasidic Jewish boy recruited by his next door neighbor to make some quick money in the Ecstasy pill drug importation business. Since he just lost his future bride because her family didn´t feel his family had enough money, it is prime time to recruit Sam (played by Jesse Eisenburg) and although he believes he catches on quick finds out whats really going on then takes it to the next level and takes on the recruiting of other young Hasidic Jewish boys and mothers to take on and be his Mules.
It is an expected result but a well told Independent film which was quite well done, both the cinematography and the acting kept it going but it lacked any “real world” creativity. The movie is worth watching to understand how naïve even street smart kids could be, and the fact that he recruited all these very religious kids and mom to work goes to show Money is a dangerous commodity in any circle.
1 Thumb up!! If the Hasidic Jewish community can be recruited thru creativity (and lies) it goes to show anybody could have been duped into this trade. Worthy watch.

"Accused at 17" - 2009 - starring Cynthia Gibb, Nicole Gale Anderson & Janet Montgomery.
Movie of the Day: "Accused at 17” starring Cynthia Gibb, Nicole Gale Anderson & Janet Montgomery.
Length: 1:30:48

Rating : 5.70 (a good lesson to teach teenagers although done in a very basic way).
Movie Review: This I want to comment as a movie that every parent should sit down and watch with their growing teenagers, especially the ones that think they already know it all (Oh I forgot isn´t that every teenager from 13 up that fits into the know it all category).
OK the movie itself was done in a very basic no big money kinda way and although was OK to somewhat passable acting it was the message of the movie that kept me watching not really knowing how the end would come together.
I almost could believe it was a true story disguised because the cast did a really good job of playing and making you understand how people react in certain intense situations.
The movie is about 4 girls , trust , hate , being 18 and making choices that will affect their lives forever and mothers that will just about do anything to cover up for their daughters and how to learn that Trust is a very special gift to only be given out after people have proven they are worthy of that honor. It will teach a lot of value to your children that sometimes (usually) they find out when you pick them up in your local jail.
To tell much about this would ruin a lot of the storyline but trust me if you are a parent trying to get into your teenagers minds (and they are not letting you) have them sit down and watch this with you, and comment on the different lessons you hope they will take with them even though they won´t have to physically live them.
1 Thumb up!! For the lessons you or your children will learn is well worth your time.

Movie of the Day: "Predators” starring Adrian Brody,Topher Grace and Alice Braga.
Length: 1:.47:26
Date of Review: 10-01-2010
Rating : 6.50 (a remake of the great Predator original but with some new twists.)
Movie Review: This immediately brought me to the original Predator movie in my mind and prepared me for the ride but this time with a different twist was brought to us. A set of different humans with different situations and past histories whether it be ex military guys or 2 guys who were just in prison basically for each 2 people they had different specialties that were brought to this special Predator other world.
The setting is very much like an exotic jungle till you view the sky. Quite impressive parts that really were quite believable which always makes me feel it’s at least "a could have been true type of feeling" added to the fear it instills into you as human being hunted by the aliens .
The acting was pretty good considering Brody had a few 1 liners I don’t think he was ever trying to be a Schwarzenegger but it definitely added to the movie. The movie was a Hollywood big feature at around $45,00,000 invested it showed in its special effects and nothing ever appeared to be cheesy so they accomplished the feeling of being in a foreign type world and being chased down by Aliens and that’s where the Brain game starts in and quite a few scenes were well thought up.
The feeling of being out there was the most intimidating part of the movie as you never could just go home; there was no logical way to just go home so again the creativity of the human brain was our Hope.
The movie was not super fabulous in my humble opinion but it was worth watching if not at least to compare the graphics from this and how much special effects have came in 20 years. I always am much more appreciative when a movie provides a great visual experience and this definitely kept you watching.
1 Thumb up!! Decent well made and worthy of a watch like any good action flick should be.
